Mutiple Sclerosis More Condition_symptoms

Read all costs? Space

No, but! We want you they read just a little? Read, read, READ ! A 15 minutes in the morning, 15 minutes in the afternoon, an hour to the Bible, reading circles, reading test, reading a variety of texts, literary appreciation, and more! We want all the time they read. Even parents want: they buy books at Christmas, Easter, birthdays, they complain endlessly that their child is not reading enough, "so that i can How to read y'en plusses? And then we pedagogical side, we add: " You know reading, gna-gna-gna ... The more you read, the better you write, gna-gna-gna ... Reading difficulties occur in solving problems, gna-gna-gna ... Sometimes , the teachers, we really love to hear themselves talk too!

No wonder when some of our students no longer want anything to read. They are fed up: E-USOC-RES! So I sympathize!

First, it is essential to distinguish between read and enjoy reading. Two very different things. It can read and do not like to read. As proof that our libraries are far from millionaires. One can also enjoy reading without knowing how to read, and remember how many children you have seen a volume scan in for hours watching the pictures, read other - Stuffed under his arm and hand tale - a story respecting any text, others decoding the book upside down, seriously like little popes.

Let's face it: even if it is considered sacrilege in our society right-minded to say, love reading is not essential to survival. While not read ... Surely you can live while being illiterate, but we hear you going to drool in certain situations and others where you live will not feel the best of your self-esteem. Talk to Jacques Demers!

is why it is important to make this distinction in education and teaching, both at home and at school. Otherwise, always typing the same nail ... If a child is like wood, fine. But often we are dealing with more concrete. And then the nail is twisted.

So, how to stimulate the parallel need to read and want to read? Being a great magnet of the literature and a big fan of children's literature is always a heart-breaking to have a student or students who do not read. I try as much as possible to respect this choice and then guide me on the need to read, while seeking ways to stimulate interest in reading during the journey. My tips are not infallible, but if they can give you a boost for you and your child or student, then it will be not bad, right?

The need to read (or read to meet their needs, if you prefer, because you can have a "need" to read when one has the "taste" to read ...) passes First and foremost, by contact with the paper. So the child realizes how reading is essential in life, it must be put in concrete situations.

At home, the trails are numerous. Go through a manual is an excellent example even if at first you'll have to accept that your child lives frustration (not easy for the parent papoute !). You offer a new board game for your child? Put him in charge to read, understand and explain the regulations. Your little girl wants to help you in a recipe? His task will read you the ingredients and steps. Your toddler wants to do a DIY he saw in a book? He read the list of equipment and accompany it in the reading stage. In each of these situations, you can punctuate "I did not understand that last one ... can you explain it to me?" The shopping list is also a good way. Once at the supermarket, put your child in charge of some articles. Give him, in writing, a small list where you'll detailed articles: the 15% cream for cooking brand XYZ (250 ml), a box of crackers of the brand XYZ, but no trans fat, a box flaked light tuna in water, etc.. And presto! You suffer from the hunting. You can stimulate him stating that he has exactly the requested items, they can choose an item of his choice to put in the basket. In general, it's quite pleasant.

Regarding teaching situations, prepare exercises based on real user guides, recipes or instructions for games. We can ask specific questions: how a player can exchange his money? what are the dry ingredients in this recipe? How do I schedule a recording on my VCR? (Tiens! It would be good for my mother this ...) I give exercises of this kind in less twice a year and many students enjoy.

And the joy of reading? At home, go ahead slowly. If you buy three novels at once for your child, without nuance genres and more, your chances of success are slim. Try different genres: adventure, detective, science fiction, true story, etc.. If your child does not like, do not force to pursue and, especially, wait a while before offering another novel by a new style. You can also make a pact: read the first two chapters, and if you do not like, we'll try something else. Often, he will eventually read it all. You can also lead by example creating a "moment of reading, time of day (on weekends for example) where everyone says: dad, mom, brothers and sisters. This time should be as sacrosanct as piano lessons or soccer practice. Makes it fun and a little hot chocolate, choose a pillow for each child and bought specifically for this moment, and voila! Between that and getting up at 5:30 in the morning to go to the rink ...

For school, the same tricks apply. The King of genres, the pact of the chapters, are an example of betting. If you have room for a comfortable reading area and stimulating even better! I also suggest the book club, team, children read the same book and share once a week, while fulfilling their impressions of literary forms. Your school counselor should be able to find some information and documents on the subject, and your management should be fairly open-minded ( Cross your fingers! ) for a purchase of novels from this perspective. Make sure you have books of different genres and for different levels of readers. And do not be afraid to refuse a student a particular novel because it is a beginning reader. They are generally pretty honest to confess and admit it. It will only be liable then when you gradually become better player and he will attack more complex volumes.

In sum, as in need in the joy of reading, be patient. If there is to read, love to read is perhaps not very far. It is often a question of pace and time.

PS: I think that's the ticket the more educational than I ever wrote. Hope you have not done too much shit!

PPS: Sorry for the radio silence. But you know, I've already spoken, the ballots ...

Hodgkin's Disease More Condition_symptoms

insecurity again and again

was written in the sky.

After the school board had closed two schools last year, displaced tens of surplus teachers and sent other school boards in the absence of foreign jobs ...

After Big Cow put me out of me to display in June ...

After the school board and the union forced m'aient , heart and wallet in the vice, to leave my students in September ...

After that I'm enamored of my new surroundings, taking root quickly to ensure my well-being in a position now mine ...
That the director
ByZeBook me that this post will be closed next year. Dismay despair, rage, boredom are some statements that I have crossed in the space of a minute. And I'm not alone. Four of us to leave. Decline in student enrollment and maximizing the ratio of pupils in classes explain the decision of the school board to grant fewer positions at the school. And surely in many others.

" you I want to clarify that if it was only based on your involvement and your work with students, others would be gone before you. "I feel sincere. Small consolation, but it makes me still fun. Especially after what I wrote yesterday.

But it still looks really wonder why the school board and the union forced the hand of everyone so they know already what will happen next year! That they would try not to take a break ? To smoke the peace pipe to the worst corners a bit? Ultimately, they would be winners, the next generation of teachers might have a better sense of self and some probably do not slam the door because of all the deals too complex, and often disrespectful. Because that I say and repeat: these are not students who are young teachers to flee, this is fucking shit system!

So what lies ahead? Will I still tutor next year? Will I still m'égosiller a silent resentment on the blogosphere?

Three scenarios are possible.

a small : By the end of the year, an incredible windfall of students enrolling in school, managing to reopen four classes at once. Being the youngest in terms of seniority, we must first prioritize my grandparents.

small b : At the end of the year, I was declared surplus. So I have to go to a posting in June and change schools. However, I can sign a clause to return to school of origin "in the event that a class in the school would open in September, we would propose to me first. This, of course, if my three other colleagues are not the same.

small c : The school board does not have enough positions to offer. So I get a letter of non-reappointment and redrope on the priority list. The cheap shot: I understand explanations of a union on the line, as I was "being constantly" and that I did not "two-year fixed", I lose this year. In other words, if I'm in a new position for me, I must recount two years to become permanent. It was well worth it to make me sparkle tenure. In addition, I have to display stuff on the priority list. The beef is back to the slaughter!

* sigh * It never going to stop?

Ohio Driver's License Renewal

Devil, you see what I mean?

Increasingly, I feel that teachers, after some years of teaching, end up living in another world. One World, hot, grainy, which crunches under the tooth, where it is blind and where they can make less and less. This world has two continents: Head-in-the-sand-and Minimum d'efforts. Some live on one or the other, but many have a main house on the first with a second home on the second, or vice versa. * * *
Earlier this week, it still speaks of the elections. The results are so amazing that, whether we win or lose, it will take some time before we return. The sub-theme of the conversation concerned, of course, the soaring little Mario: Is this really a protest vote, or rather a rise of the Right? Each said its assumptions until a colleague opens the mouth so that commonly call a "full of stupid prejudices ...

Prof. of another age: Anyway, I j ' I voted ADQ worse chu ben content. I won my election in some way. When I see the world that lacrosse su'l BS system ...
Me: C'mon, I do not see how a change of government will prevent those who cram the system to continue. Anyway, we hear, is not a majority! Prof.
of another age: Ouch! I've seen enough in my other job. Y 'all explained to me' how to 'did it. It shocked me enough.
Me: But between what a person says and does ... As you know personally? Prof.
of another age: No, but it changes nothing to the problem. I
(which starts pumping royally ... I have a short fuse!) : Right. Except honestly, among hundreds of welfare recipients who cram the government of 100 dollars a month worse a hundred teachers who pognent the donut crossent worse blow to the government of tens of thousands each year for 30 years and over, I still prefers the welfare!

I just get out the hatchet. I do not like it, she loves me not. It is a direct colleague and his students dream of being in my class rather than his own. Because it is part, but do not concede, the minority teacher that I have named crudely. For minority which the union refused a professional. (This is not just for how he refuses, but that's another story ...)

Prof. Sixties (hitherto silent) : C'mon! Teacher's not working, it was twenty years ago. With the reform, it no longer exists! I
(more su'l ass) : What?
Prof.
Coke (who watched silently) : Yeah. All the teachers work, frankly. I know that I do anything.
Me: Well then! You silly me !??!? Prof.
Coke (in a tone of defiance) : Not at all. As you know personally, you?
Me: And how! You probably forgot the years when you were under contract, but when you're 4-5 in precarious schools, we see them, those who do the job in half. Because we do not understand how we as alternates to the contract, which we kill to work to make our mark, we bump, transferred, demoted on the priority list fucking while others pass through the cracks the nose and beard directions, parents and students. I think qu'y'en has at least one per school, if not two. I can even appoint thee. Prof.
of another age (categorical) : Well, not in our school.
Me: Well some in our school! Should you want me to name them?

Silence. They know all, but they do not want to know. The bell at the end of recess rang and then I jumped, propelled by my fury, leaving behind the cold war in a wasteland.
